The Book of Gates NFT is based on the graphic novel from artist, writer, and real-life explorer Alexander Black, who conducted expeditions in Egypt and ancient Petra and translated the hieroglyphics of the Egyptian Book of Gates.
The graphic novel starts in 1844, when Dr. James Freeman Clarke builds a machine to extract souls, accidentally releasing the Egyptian god Pan. Fast forward 100 years and an American G.I., Bruno Giordano, signs up for a daring raid to kill Hitler. After he is blown up on the beaches of Normandy, he discovers Egyptian hieroglyphics formed in his war scars. Soon Bruno must join a battle for the soul of the world, between factions of the Shemsu Hor, God-Kings of ancient Egypt, led by Pan, and those led by Bruno’s benefactor, Iaret. Told against an epic canvas of World War II and the steam age 1800s, Bruno must challenge a conspiracy of evil at the highest levels of power to fulfill his destiny to become the next Shemsu Hor and rescue the son he abandoned back home.
The Book of Gates Trading Game
After 100% community activation of the Book of Gates NFT, the Trading Game will be released. Players must own at least one Character NFT and Artifact NFT to play. The rankings of the Character NFT, its rarity, and special characteristics, in combination with Artifact NFTs owned by the player, will determine the Character’s lethality. When matched against rival NFT owners, players will stake combinations of NFTs in Battles, similar to an Ethereum blockchain version of Magic: The Gathering.
Character NFTS
There are twenty-eight different character and creature designs to own. The Book of Gates Character NFTs derives from over 1.2 million attribute combinations from the stunning universe of the graphic novel. Each NFT will be a unique, randomly programmed cell containing:
- Characters – 28 different character and creature designs.
- Orders – Seven secret societies to belong to.
- Gates – Twelve Gates represent the twelve hours of the night.
- Backgrounds – Taken from the graphic novel.
- Secret Codes – Hidden throughout.
